SECTION II.A: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT (WORKS)
II.1) TITLE ATTRIBUTED TO THE CONTRACT BY THE CONTRACTING AUTHORITY:
Planned maintenance programme 2008-2012 - partnering framework.
II.2) TYPE OF CONTRACT AND LOCATION OF WORKS: Main site or location of
works: Within the Borough of Castle Morpeth

II.3) THIS NOTICE INVOLVES A FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT: yes.
II.4) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORKS: Castle Morpeth
Borougn Council (the 'authority') is in the process of a stock transfer
ballot which is subject to a successful vote by its tenants to transfer
its housing stock to a housing association to be known as Castle Morpeth
Housing Limited. Contracts will only be entered into by Castle Morpeth
Housing Limited. The autority is seeking the procurement of partners for
its programme of modernisation and improvement works. A programme of work
will be required over 4 years to bring the stock up to the UK Government
'Decent Homes' standards. Expressions of interest are being invited in
respect of tenders for modernisation and improvement works. Bidders are
required to bid for all of the above types of work and up to 4
constructors will be appointed in relation to all of the above types of
work. The modernisation and improvement works will be delivered using term
partnering contracts. Tenderers shall note that the contracting authority
reserves the right to amend and update the scope of works and it shall
confirm the final scope of the works in the contract documents. The
modernisation and improvement comprise of works to kitchens, bathrooms,
electrical testing, rewiring and associated works, repair and maintenance
services of central heating, central heating installation works,
installation of fitted kitchens, plumbing and sanitary work, installation
of electrical and mechanical equipment, plastering work, thermal and sound
insulation work, roofing works, masonary and bricklaying work, repainting
work, electrical wiring and fitting work, building alteration work, gas
appliance maintenance services, joinery work, window and door replacement
works, fencing and paving works.
Estimated cost of works excluding VAT: 32 000 000 GBP.

therefore do not respond to this PIN.
