The new prison is planned to have 251 places divided between 24 places in
an open department and 227 places in a secure department.
The prison is to be for both men and women. Safety for everyone, both
prisoners, employees and visitors shall be emphasized and seen to at all
levels and in all conditions.
The total gross area is 27 500 m². The site is 300 decares and is situated
at Torpum in Halden municipality.
