II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS) website (www.LTScotland.org.uk) attracts over 3.5 million visitors each year and is delivered by a team of content editors and web developers working closely with our stakeholders and partners in the education sector. The products and systems used to deliver all of LTS’ online services and content include the following; Tridion R5 Content Management System, Verity K2 Search Engine, Web Servers (IIS, Apache, Tomcat), Microsoft Sharepoint, Nedstat Sitestat, Wordpress Multiuser, MediaWiki, Microsoft SQL Server, Adobe Flash, Adobe Director, ASP, ASP.Net, My SQL, Active Standards, Lyris. It is expected that the Learning and Technology directorate of LTS will need to respind rapidly to changing educational and technogical requirements across the education sector in Scotland. In order for us to achieve this we will need to build capacity in key areas of our ICT services, solutions and content development. We aim to do this by developing a framework of suppliers who can provide the skills and services required. This framework will enable us to build our capacity in these key areas and better respond to the needs of our customers and stakeholders. The development of a framework of leading edge innovative suppliers of web and digital services as well as strategy and consultancy, will also enable us to achieve business efficiencies, and provide the highest standards of quality.
